Basic Mamta Mohandas was born in Bahrain on November 14th 1985. Her schooling was from the Indian School, Bahrain and brick, she graduated from Mount Caramel, Bangalore. She is trained in Hindustani and Karnatic music. Mamta has tried her hand in modelling for some fear. She walked the ramp for the Mysore Maharajah and Raymond. She also has some print ads for IBM and Kalyan Kendra DoNE.

MISS Mamta Mohandas started to work with Hariharan's Mayookham Malyalam movie in 2005. This movie was a flop but Mamta was noticed by all because of the character she played in the bus conductor and then appeared in a supporting role.
She acted in the Madhuchandralekha, and Adhbutam Lanka. She did a Tamil movie opposite Vishal Reddy Sivapathigaram.
Her singing was in the movie could have been done and she received the Filmfare awards for the Best Rakhee female Playback Singer (2007) in Telugu. Sang the title song for Kaalai she in the Kollywood Industry. She was a supporting actress in Yamadonga directed by SS Rajamouli, which proved to be a Big hit. She Sang also a couple of songs for this movie.
Krishnar, Juna Victory, Homam Kathanayakudu and were some of the movies in which she played the lead roles. Her most recent movie was King where she acted as Well as the title track Sang. She received praise for her singing and acting in this movie Botha.
In 2009, she will be seen in Malayalam movies like Passenger, John and Angel Musafir
